A country without a passport
Photographs taken in Meheba, Zambia, in May 2025.
Meheba, one of the largest refugee settlements in Africa, has welcomed communities from different countries in the region for more than four decades. In its schools, in its playgrounds, and in its fields, daily life weaves a path between hope and the memory of uprooting. This project explores those moments of childhood and routine that, amidst uncertainty, weave a sense of belonging to a country that doesn't exist on maps or in passports.
